Feeding the Poor, The Bowl of Rice
Living in Cambodia there is poverty, even extreme poverty everywhere.
As I go through the scriptures, and even the Words of Jesus, the poor were and still are very important to the Lord specially our poor brethren in Christ. To refresh your memory maybe you can just read again Isaie 58, Matthew 25 starting at v.32, 1 John3,...
The Apostle John in his first Epistle wrote following :
" Hereby perceive we the love of God,because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us."
We give already everyday 70 over meals at our House of Prayers and 30 meals at the Slum Center and have this burden to start "the Bowl of Rice with 30 to 50 meals a day first.
I believe it is not for nothing that we have been blessed with an Hydroponic System so we can have a lot of vegetables through the year, and that we manage to test a more productive system at 20 times less the cost... It is to feed the needy.
We have so many brethren in the slums areas who are so poor that they can barely afford one meal a day. They are part of Jesus Family as I am part of it and you are part of it. We will start in the first months of 2016 the "Bowl of Rice"to the poor Christians first... specially to the old, sick and disabled.
I never forget this words from Jesus in Luke :
Sell what ye possess and give alms; make to yourselves purses which do not grow old, a treasure which does not fail in the heavens, where thief does not draw near nor moth destroy.
